Public lecture by Ida Nafstad and Isabel Shoultz: E Seminar: Crime, Control and Policy

On 26 October Faculty of Political Science hosted public lecture on topic „Crime, Control and Policy“, held by Ida Nafstad and Isabel Shoultz, researchers at the Sociology of Law Department at Lunds University (Sweden), as a part of E seminar program desinged for guest teachers and researchers.

Lecture was held in room 28 between 14:00 and 15:00 and dealt with issues such as social construction of crime, crime of the powerfull and the powerless, coorporate crime, culture of control, law as a instrument of social control and risk managment strategies in the contemporary risk society focusing on terrorism. Lecture sparked a fruitful discussion between the lecturers and the audience where some examples from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden were considered in the light of critical criminology and sociology of law perspectives.

E seminar was facilitated by Hamza Karčić and Samir Forić of the Interantional Cooperation Office of the Faculty of Political Sciences as a part of Erasmus+ KA107 staff mobility between University of Sarajevo and Lunds University.
