We are glad to reflect on the successful hosting of the final Regional CONNEKT Conference at our Faculty of Political Science, University of Sarajevo, on Friday, December 8, 2023!
A dynamic mix of foreign experts, local experts, and enthusiastic students joined hands to delve into the pressing issues surrounding violent extremism.
It was an honor to host distinguished partners, including IEMed (Spain), Center for the Study of Democracy (Bulgaria), and Македонска академија на науките и уметностите (North Macedonia).
The conference centered around CONNEKT (Contexts of Violent Extremism in MENA and Balkan Societies), a Horizon 2020 EU-funded research project. This initiative explores the drivers of radicalization and violent extremism among young people aged 12 to 30 in eight countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Egypt, Jordan, Kosovo, Morocco, North Macedonia, and Tunisia.
