Call for Staff
The University of Marburg is looking for qualified staff to teach select seminars at the 2025 Hessen International Summer University (ISU).
“Germany and Europe in a Turbulent World – History, Politics, Society and Culture”
July 28th – August 22nd 2025
Marburg, Germany
The ISU is a four-week international summer university with an average of over 40 participants from all over the world. Coordinated by Professor Dr. Thorsten Bonacker and Professor Dr. Eckart Conze, the ISU is comprised of four modules pertaining to German and European Culture, Society, History and Politics.
For this year, we are looking for staff willing to teach on topics related to the core topics of EUPeace, including but not limited to
- the history of European integration (from 1945 to present);
- the emergence of the EU (and its predecessor)
- the EU as foreign and/or security policy actor (before or after 1990, or in the wider transatlantic and global context)
- the role of Germany in and for the dynamics of European Integration
- European memory culture (beyond national boundaries)
- Challenges for justice and inclusion in Europe
- Migration
*We are open to individual ideas and course related to topics above!
Seminars consist of nine 90-minute sessions (18 teaching hours), are taught in English, and take place at the University of Marburg.
Four seminars are offered in each Week 1 (28.07-07.08) and in Week 2 (11.08-22.08).
Teaching is compensated with €50 per teaching hour (45min), for a total of €900.00 per seminar. Travel and hotel costs are also included for the period of stay in Marburg
