Valida Repovac Nikšić vanredna je profesorica na Odsjeku za sociologiju i prodekanica za naučno-istraživački rad Fakulteta političkih nauka Univerziteta u Sarajevu. Rođena je 1977. godine u Sarajevu. Diplomirala je na Odsjeku za filozofiju i sociologiju Filozofskog fakulteta u Sarajevu. Pohađala je Evropski interdisciplinarni postdiplomski studij Demokratija i ljudska prava, Univerziteta u Bolonji i Univerziteta u Sarajevu. Kao stipendista Fulbright programa, radila je doktorsko istraživanje na Univerzitetu Kalifornija, Berkeley (akademska 2010.-2011.). Doktorirala je 2014. godine na Fakultetu političkih nauka Univerziteta u Sarajevu na oblasti socioloških nauka. Od 2001. do 2006. godine radila je u Direkciji za evropske integracije Vijeća ministara Bosne i Hercegovine. 2004. godine specijalizirala je na Evropskom koledžu u Brižu, Belgija. Na Fakultetu političkih nauka predaje predmete: Uvod u sociologiju, Sociologija nacije, Nacija i konflikti u procesu globalizacije svijeta i Sociologija siromaštva. Predmete Populism and Democracy i Democracy and Human Rights predaje na Joint European Master’s Programme in Political Science – Integration and Governance. U aprilu 2019. godine objavila je knjigu: Teorijske rasprave o kozmopolitizmu. Koautorica je knjige Razumijevanje društva (2021). Uređivala je časopis Sarajevski žurnal za društvena pitanja i vodila Odsjek za sociologiju. Koordinirala je istraživački projekt Active Citizenship: Promoting and Advancing Innovative Democratic Practices in the Western Balkans unutar programa Jean Monnet Network. Trenutno vodi Horizon Europe ENCODE projekt, kao i zajednički ERASMUS MUNDUS Master program IMCEERES.
Valida Repovac Nikšić is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo. She has previously worked in the Directorate for European Integration at the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Valida holds a degree from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo. She completed her Master's thesis in Political Philosophy as part of the European Regional Master's Program in Democracy and Human Rights in South-East Europe, offered by the University of Bologna and the University of Sarajevo. During the academic year of 2010-2011, she was a visiting Ph.D. Candidate within the Fulbright Program at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2014, Valida obtained her Ph.D. in Sociology from the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Sarajevo. Her research interests lie in Political Sociology, Political Theory, and Critical Social Theory. Her work focuses on various areas, including cosmopolitanism, transnationalism, populism, active citizenship, and democratic innovations. She has published a book titled “On Cosmopolitanism – Theoretical Debates”. She is currently the academic coordinator of the ERASMUS Mundus IMCEERES program for the University of Sarajevo, in partnership with the University of Glasgow and the University of Tartu, Estonia. Valida is currently coordinating the ENCODE project for the Horizon Europe Program. She also holds the position of Vice-Dean for Science and Research.
